As much as bad grammar puts me off, there are several other things or rather ‘habits’ which put me way off. And I decided that I should officially make a list and see if other people also find them annoying or am I the only crazy one here.
STOPIT#1 : Inconsistency. Inconsistency of opinions, of attitudes, of behaviors. I mean, why is it so hard for people to stick to what they say? Or what they don’t say? Sure, we get influenced by a number of things and we may change the way we have been thinking about something, but OH MY GOD do some people change their colors FAAAST. They say one thing today and will be saying something completely opposite tomorrow.
Word of Advice : STOPIT. Grow up and learn to be a little more steadfast in your views. If you won’t respect your own thoughts and go on changing them this very often, chances are you’d be diagnosed as a bi-polar patient and will be left all alone.
STOPIT#2 : Cheesy-Janu-Manu-Tum-Meri-Zindagi-Ho type attitude. Na toh mjhay apki zindagi bana hey, na apki ankhou ka tara. UFF. I just cannot tolerate such cheesyness man. It’s one thing to be into someone and a completely different thing to compare them to ‘dew-drops-on-roses’. Ewo. Some girls may find it cute, but not me. No, sir.
Word of Advice: If you are so in love, there are a million other things you can say to your ‘beloved’ which would not make her feel awkward. I never really understood why anyone would want to be compared
to a moon, or for Shakespeare’s sake, to a SUMMER’S DAY? I wouldn’t. I’d rather fancy if you would not compare me to anything or anybody at all. Period.
STOPIT#3: Bad manners. Oh. My. God. Some people just don’t know how to act in public. Even if you look like Brad Pitt and chew food with your mouth open or wipe your nose with your sleeve… I don’t even want to talk about this, IT IS THAT ANNOYING.
Word of Advice: Everybody loves a well mannered person. You can have a burping competition in the privacy of your own house, in your own room, with another manner less sibling or friend but not around other people. It is just not acceptable.
STOPIT#4 : It’s one thing to be fun and lively and energetic and it’s a completely different thing to be just plain OBNOXIOUS. We all know that one person who tries way too hard to be heard.
Word of Advice: Take a deep breath and just…shut. Up. Kthanks.
STOPIT#5: People who pretend that they are-too-cool-for-reading. They’d much rather listen or WATCH Ali Zafar, since he has been doing quite some interesting things, in some of his *ahem* movies *ahem*. And they blame only Veena. Not fair, world, not fair.
Word of Advice: Please read. Be informed. Reading is for super awesome people. (*-*) I’m sure Ali Zafar reads too. When he’s not busy…uhh well okay just forget it.
STOPIT#6: And in this category I’ll put up all sorts of liars and cheaters and hypocrites and you know, the works. We all hate them. In the past, I too have lied about a few things, mostly to avoid conflicts and arguments and I know it is NO excuse and of course, it has always landed me into trouble. But now I try to keep it real and straightforward as much as possible even though it has successfully earned me the title of being ‘mean’ and ‘blunt’ and ‘insensitive’ but hey it’s okay. AT LEAST I’M NOT LYING ANYMORE.
Word of Advice: As clichéd as it sounds, honesty really is the best policy.
